Our innovation and vision for the future has led us to produce our range of recycled materials. These revolutionary and effective processes contribute to redefining the rotomoulding industry. Work in this area is ongoing and breaking new ground for the industry.
A large proportion of the material we produce is utilised in the production of water tanks. Similarly, our quest is also to recycle water tanks from around the country to avoid that material going to landfill or being buried or burned. One heartwarming story we have relates to a 25,000 L tank dumped on a rural school field. With the support of a customer the students came to help load the tank for removal, we processed it back into powder for our customer to then mould into storage bins for the school.This project not only repurposed materials but also involved the children in the recycling process, providing them with hands-on educational experience in sustainability.
Using less material than traditional processing to produce the same tank yields a lower carbon footprint and faster processing times. The shot weight can be reduced by up to 20% without sacrificing physical properties. This leads to less strain on equipment due to lighter shot weights, especially for very large parts. Wear and tear is reduced and parts that were previously unmanageable can now be produced.
Our work on recycling mussel floats, which won a Marine Farm Association award in 2019, has expanded to meet the demand for recycled materials. Although very durable mussel floats eventually reach the end of their useful life and recovery and re-use of the material to avoid this material reaching landfill is a passion for us.
